District Assessment Information and Schedule

Parents and Students,

Our District Assessment is nearing, and I wanted to send out a couple of reminders.  Please make sure that you clear your schedules for this performance.  It is essentially our SOL for band, and we want to make sure we are presenting our best.

Please double check to make sure your concert attire is ready.  Gentlemen, locate cummerbunds, bow ties, tux shirts, and black dress pants.  Ladies, make sure your concert dress is ready to go.

The Assessment will be held at Great Bridge HS.  Below are the times that each group will follow.  I will put a reminder out on the HBPA Facebook page as well.

9th Grade Band

5:45 Meet in band room
6:00 Load buses
6:15 Depart Hickory HS
6:30 Arrive at GBHS
6:45 Warm Up
7:10 Perform
7:40 Sightread
8:10 Assemble to discuss ratings
8:15 Dismissed/Load buses
8:30 Back at Hickory HS

Those students who play percussion MUST ride back on the bus.  Students with larger instruments may ride back also to put their instruments up.  If you are leaving with a parent, a note is required in advance stating that you will be riding home with your parents.
